are and how we conduct our programs, and run our organization. We pro-actively examine our performance and
strive to improve in a never-ending quest to continually raise our programs and

PURPOSE
It
is Hugh O'Brian Youth Leadership's belief that the world's greatest resource is
its youth. Established by Hugh O'Brian in 1958, HOBY's mission is to seek out,
recognize, and develop leadership potential commencing with high school
sophomores
HOBY's format is
simple: Bring together a select group of high school sophomores with
demonstrated leadership potential to interact with distinguished leaders in
business, education, government, and the professions. The give-and-take,
question-and-answer format of each seminar panel allows these students a chance
to "pick the brains" of today's leaders. Through annual leadership
development seminars at the state and international levels, these tenth graders
get a realistic look at what makes their countries and the world tick, thus
better enabling them to make sound judgments that will affect our world as they
grow into their future leadership roles.
